i'm so much of a history buff, i know all 44 presidents, first-middle-last name, and jr. (for carter and obama only). but sorry, ohhellmaybe, i don't know the story behind this song.

I was listening to the Louis Armstrong version of New Orleans Stomp and then I decided to search youtube. This and a few other versions are very different..more instrumental. I would like to know the origin of the song. I love Louis' version. It is very mellow with allot of feeling by everyone playing with him. Any musical history buffs know the story behind this song?
