  • I see what you are doing here. Do not let the negative Christians get you down. There is room for many types of activities in church. Call it worship - call it outreach - call it administering a community of hope to begin a dialogue, whatever it is the right thing to do. Negative nellie needs to not gets hung up on the activity and start concentrating on the dialogue that goes on after or during (at our church we discuss) these type of fellowship activities. Congratulations on being creative.

  • @spookification Thanks so much. You hit it on the head, dialogue. Right now we are simply a fledgling entity trying to start being an active part of bridging the gap. We decided to start posting videos from our local church to start the process. If we ever grow to something bigger, great, if not, we'll remain as we are. No matter, we'll be on youtube and twitter (@GrippedMinistry) posting videos that we feel can touch people for Christ and worship.

  • And just what exactly does Jesus have to do with Santa Claus?

  • @onepoundpull I strive to explain above.

  • what does this have to do with worshipping Christ!

  • @clayfield1 I strive to explain above

My goal is to be at a church that Jesus wants to go to!

  • This is horribly insulting to Jesus Christ and what Christmas is all about. I think it fitting to remind you of Jesus' words, "Depart you doers of inequity for I never knew you." I understand that it's fun and upbeat and welcoming and fluffy and totally worldly and I especially like the end where Santa is the BEST that's ever been...really puts the emphasis on Christmas...or Santamas as you've made it. Or...Satanmas is more like it! Hoo rah for the Devil on this one Northpoint!

  • I love this. I was raised very conservatively in the Baptist Church. The church has to be culturally relevant without sinning. I believe that church with robed choirs and organ music, only entertains and enriches church people. But non-church people who visit and see and hear that presentation style, usually do not come back. It has become culturally irrelevant. We live in a HD/Ipod/Microwave oven/MTV generation. Church should be presented with that in mind.

  • For those who read the Bible and not claim to know more than others, you'll understand that church is about fun, fellowship with other believers, and (again according to scripture) sharing meals together. It's not about listening to boring preaching and it's certainly not about anything other than enjoying time with other believers.

What does a fat guy in a red suit that does nothing but serve others and puts others first have to do with Jesus? Hmmm, beats me.

  • Commenters and all,

Gripped Ministry, though fledgling at best, strives to to reach one goal; accept and and all comers, no matter where they are coming from. Our preference is to reach the broken and unchurched.

In correlation, I am posting videos, so far, from my church that strives for the same.

Thanks to each of you for stopping by and I do appreciate your comments and the opportunity to explain. Hopefully you can understand the scope and reach.
