The Fishman Aura Sixteen is designed to be used with acoustic guitars, but it does work quite well with solid/semi-solid body piezos too.

  • Hi..can I use this pedal with a Taylor NYLON string guitar with a grand auditarium body shape? ......If so are the nylon string images very good?..Thanks ...it is difficult to get clear info about this pedal.....

  • @kliff10 Just looked in the Aura Gallery for you, there's a Taylor NS72ce Nylon model. That might match the shape, but you might find another classical image might match the wood combination of your guitar, unless you happen to have the NS72ce. Best thing I can say is try to get to a shop that has one and try it. I think the Nylon models will be good, but they don't change the sound of a steal string enough to make it sound like a Nylon, you have to use a Nylon for that, so I didn't demo it.

  • @kliff10 If you search "Fishman Aura Spectrum DI - Nylon mode" SydneyShiu has a demo of some of the Nylon String models, but there are more in the gallery.

  • @0326tks Thank you! Glad so many people are finding it helpful. It was a quick demo but I did it because when I was thinking of buying one I couldn't find any reviews or demos so was cautious about if it would work. I think I must have boosted Fishman's sales of this pedal :-P

  • @woshushe I think it would work with a passive piezo, there is a volume control and a trim which provides some boost on the side. But it might be better to get the DI version, that might be better for a passive piezo. Best thing you can do is try it out at a store!

  • been waiting for this video. thanks. i heard a great deal of a difference. I think the aura will be perfect with my parker as there is not enough body.

its cool how the guitar sounded like a reall hollow body acoustic guitar with the aura. im sold. ill be buying one.

  • @jamesdlow No one had posted any demos like mine yet :P so I wasn't sure I wanted to the spend the extra on the DI, so I just bought the 16. You get EQ/Compressor/Tuner added for the price :)

  • if people read online that aura systems are only supposed to be used with acoustic guitars, its a bunch of bullshit because especially in this video right here, and various bands that im into that use piezo pickups in their electric guitars, they all use the fishman aura system

  • I have a Yamaha Silent Guitar and I'm now seriously considering getting this pedal!

  • Great demo! thanks for taking the time to really explore the pedal. Many demos don't give you a good comparison.

  • it looks very good! you think it could work with passive piezo? It has enough gain in your opinion? thanks, Andrea

  • @jamesdlow thanks for the info. yes, i was thinking of getting the DI instead. quite expensive though.
