http://www.informalgadget.com *Free and easy way of using your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad, as an external hard drive or flash drive, to store all your important information without even having to be jailbroken. You will also learn how to upload and download all your pictures and music stored on your Apple device all without having to use iTunes. All you need to do is download this free software called iExplorer for Mac or PC (link below) and follow the easy how-to instructions in the video tutorial.

iExplorer download link: http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/

Works with all iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads including the iPhone 4. Every firmware from version 2.0 to version 4 or later should work so you won't even need to update your device.

  • Looks great but when i loaded it iExplorer opens, I connected the iPod but iTunes opens I then minimized it and waited to see the iPod show up in explorer and still nothing. The iPod is showing connected, but still nothing…please help Im trying to get music from the iPod to the new mac, only certain songs.

    Thanks

    Dan

  • @lamen8 That sound a little weird, I haven seen that. I did see on their website that said: If you recently updated iTunes, you may also need to run QuickTime and iTunes at least once before running iExplorer. In some cases rebooting is also needed.

But that seems to only be for when iExplorer is crashing. Ill keep an eye out for the problem. If you resolve the issue, let us know how so we can help others :)

  • @lamen8 the website also states that it Works with all iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads including the iPhone 4. Every firmware from version 2.0 to version 4 or later should work so you won't even need to update your device.
