Founded in 2002, The OR Movement is the leading organization for the development and population of the Negev and Galilee. Established by a group of idealistic young adults; originally from Central Israel, who stand dedicated to modern Zionism, based on the vision by the founding pioneers of Israel.
Up until now, OR Movement has successfully achieved the following:

- The creation and establishment of 6 new towns - Be'er Milka, Givot Bar, Haruv,Merhav-Am, Mitzpe Ilan, and Sansana, (3 more currently being established -- Carmit, Casif & Cheran).
-Initiated and accompanied 23 Core Groups - that have already relocated to the Negev and the Galilee out of the planned 70 by Israel's 70th Independence Day.
-Facilitated 43 projects - for public and community buildings in the periphery i.e.: Synagogues, day care centers, parks, etc.
-Chronicled 30,000 households - that have contacted OR's Information and Relocation center about relocating to or working in the peripheries.
Settled 4,600 families - who have already relocated to new communities.
-Assisted 12,000 families -- that are in the OR Movement database and in the process of settling in the Negev or the Galilee.
-Government Advocacy - through lobbying for the Negev and Galilee regions, as well as successfully initiating and passing 17 new government resolutions regarding the area and the facilitation of hundreds of millions of Shekels in new budgets.

Recipient of the Presidents Volunteers Award in 2006, the Knesset Speaker's Award for Quality of Life in 2009 and the first ever Prime Ministers Award for Innovation and Initiatives in 2010.

Today, The OR Movement is the primary source for new innovative projects and information regarding: new town establishment, culture, economic growth, community life, education & internships, employment opportunities, housing & relocation, tourism, and much more; while promoting and implementing projects throughout the peripheral regions in Israel.
