When the Minneapolis Veterans for Peace hosted a tribute to the Twin Cities own "non-violent revolutionary" Marv Davidov on April 25, 2010, the four McDonald Sisters kicked off the evening of memories and stories with their own special musical tribute to Marv. The four McDonalds are themselves legendary peace icons who grew up as sisters in a large Irish farm family in Hollywood Township, Minnesota. The four sisters all entered the convent and became catholic sisters who devoted their lives to teaching and peace activism. A book by Carol Masters and Davidov was published a few months ago entitled "You Can't Do That: Marv Davidov, Non-Violent Revolutionary" and records the oral history of decades of Davidov's life from his days as a "Freedom Rider" in the South to becoming an anti-Vietnam War and anti-cluster bomb activist.

  • Just found your "site". Must assume the name comes from Pete's song "God Bless the Grass". Not too many know it, but I do.
