SALIENT FEATURES OF THE I.T. LABS PROJECT

Each lab consists of the following state-of-the-art equipment:
•3 Servers
•15 Terminals
•One 1.5 ton split type Air Conditioner
•One 3 KV UPS
•One Printer
•NComputing device
•16 tables and 31 computer chairs
Salient Features of the Project:
•Deployment of 4286 IT Labs in 36 districts of the Punjab
•Project completed in record time of 110 days
•Licensed software from Microsoft Corporation
•All labs fully covered under warranty for 3 years
•Saving of more than 20% funds allocated for the project without compromising quality
•Over 4000 new I.T. teachers recruited creating new employment opportunities.
•Over 10,000 teachers are being trained
•Transparent mechanism adopted for complete process
•Payments made after verification by the locally constituted Inspection Teams
•5% labs inspected by the concerned DCO in each district
•Microsoft devised learning programme for students

•PTCL to build up backbone for provision of DSL connection to all the 4286 school sites within a period of 18 months.
