In February 1996, the first shots of Nepal's civil war rang out across the Himalayas. Ten years on, more than 12,000 people have lost their lives as Nepal's ruling monarchy battles with Maoist rebels seeking to establish a communist republic.

  • @diliprai yea u wild animals deserve it. stop being slaves

  • @MegaBeasted, I think those comrade sister is gone back to village after maoist leaders reached on the hot seat of singhdarbar. They are enemy of our country, war doesn't bring change and development rather pushed us to poorest among the world.

  • @gurkhaliwithkhukuri- Good words pal but this isn't understand by illiterate village young people and maoist made them their weapon. They ruined our country, they are dividing our country. If they wanted this why would they fight for democracy and killed so many people during elimination of Panchayat??? You know communism is old system and doesn't work in modern world, they are corrupt people...

  • i alwayz wonder wat had happened to comrade bihani who spoke those strong bold words ?? where is she ?? its all politicians now who is taking advantage of their sacrifice.

  • I won't let these fuckers fuck my motherland any more. If they get started again, I'll nuke 'em. Look how they brainwash innocents and make them commie dogs. There ain't such extreme discrimination, I won't say there ain't any. This ain't rebel. This is terrorism. A change is essential, but that ain't communism.

  • Actually its wrong to say that the maoist revolution started in nepal as a consequence of caste and religion bias, or the immediate plight of the landless peasants. That way, the revolution is made to look like a reaction. More than any ascribable cause are the words of mao.

  • "Landless peasants" "Governed by caste" it is all because of vedic culture and the vedic people discrimination on other indigenous people that revolution started.

You can read this and more discrimination against the indigenous people in Nepal in article
