@mariebridge AWESOME ARTWORK you and your husband do!
How long would you say it takes Brian to draw each page of that size like the ones in this video?
I'm guessing 3-5 hours each.
I ask because I am a college art student and am very inspired by the work you and Brian do in these videos.
Ironically, my name is Ryan which sounds like Brian.
X)
Anyway, look forward to more awesome videos by you guys!
= : )

@mariebridge i agree the only way for perfection is using references
Every (or most) artists use references. Find pictures of what comes closest to what you see in your mind's eye, and piece your vision together, borrowing a little from each reference until you get what you envision. Even the great Alex Ross uses photographs to draw from.

Marcus, the key to getting back to where you were is practice, practice, and more practice! Brian recommends you train your hands and eyes like an athlete trains his body. Spend part of every day studying other artists, soak up as much knowledge as you can, develop your eye, then train your hand to mimic what you see. Don't give up and do it EVERY DAY! Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

It takes one to two days sometimes, Brian has a full time job as a designer, so he only gets to work with his own projects in his "spare" time. He says that when he is doing fun things like drawing the dragons, there is no pressure and deadlines, so it just flows out. Brian wants you all to know he really appreciates all the great comments. He says thanks. ... (posted from his wife, Marie)

lol it would be funny if he didnt draw any of them and was just adding little random lines and things and just getting all the credit

I ASSURE YOU, Brian draws every single stroke on every one of the drawings in these videos. Sometimes, I get the privilege of painting what he draws, as I cannot draw like he does, but he is the one doing all of these drawings on his own. He has been drawing since he was a child. He has been selling his drawings since high school. Sometime soon, I will post a drawing from stage one to finished product.
