I am coming from the view point if not having heard anything from the project apart from Detroit state Of mind.... But, for me, so many rappers have paid homage to great tracks and albums by doing cover versions. And 90% of the time, for me, it works a treat. @langa209 The song I heard was based upon a nas joint but the beat had like three keychanges and more instruments... didnt sound like a copy of the original any more than thieves theme sounded like Hip hop is dead, same basic melodies with all ne interpretation and new lyrics, I get what you are saying but Hip hop isnt about the beats anyway...ELzhi is a lyrisist, not a producer (I often complain that he doesnt hook up wit ha decent producer and just be a team, like Hi tek+Kweli, gangstarr)
