This is the second original ukulele song based on my first trip to Berlin in June 2011. I saw a sparrow chirping away on an old Soviet tank on the main Berlin drag "Unter den Linden" on my way from the Brandenburg gate, and I just had to take a picture and write a song about it later. Back in Canada, I played a new Martin 0XK ukulele and my favourite Hohner piano-32 melodica.
The bird song was recorded right "Unter den Linden" while I was wandering around. Enjoy! Viel Vergnügen! I will return to Berlin in October 2011 to get more ideas and pictures to complete my Berlin Ukulele Notebook with 5 more songs!
Here is the ukulele sheet music:

Lyrics: Sparrow on a Tank
Sparrow, will we see tomorrow?
Sparrow, will you be there, the morrow?
So many have flown off, been sent off to war
Your little wings keep you safe, evermore...
Until it's blown over and over, little bird
All the sad songs, you've must have heard
Under linden trees, in Berlin you'll always fly free
Sparrow on a tank, sparrow on a tank, sparrow on a tank
Sparrow, what will we see, tomorrow?
Sparrow, who will we be, the morrow?
CHORUS
Of what planet are you?

Terrible, Pete. C'est vraiment chouette, et bien joué.
Très épuré (je préfère).
