Trying to get video evidence of Ebby {TWH} getting into a canter (we had been working all summer on the cue) unfortunately, she only got a portion of a stride in, the rest remains as a really fast pace!
EDIT: Yes, I know pacing is quite horrible for a TWH, but I reached a point of "what to do" and her owner requested that I teach her the cue to canter rather then train her out of the pace.

  • Can you just lounge it or do you have to be on it? I'm training one and he has a out of control canter and I can't get him to slow down without breaking "/

  • I would ride him, I feel that being in the saddle offers more aids to slow down then a lead line yanking at his face. You'll just have to ride it out.

  • @iluvmahorselakota what you have to do is keep on doing the canter then it starts to slow it down like if you can, keep on running your tennessee walker and i promise you it will start to slow down and be more in control i've known through experience.

  • my tennessee walker's canter is fast and out of control. do have any ideas on how i can slow it down to a 3 beat gait?
