Jerry's touch and tone is unmatched. He plays with feeling, smoothness and expression that makes the steel guitar a fabulous instrument an icon of the steel guitar.Non-pedal and 7 strings that's all you need. Jerry is missed by all who love the sound of the steel guitar at it's finest.

Very nice backup by Billy Byrd. I would venture a quess that his guitar was custom built. Billy was the "Byrd" in the "Byrdland" guitar by Gibson.

Beautiful.
I'm curious about the guitarist's instrument. It is a deep body doublecutaway, looks to be an upscale Gibson, from the "cloud" position markers. The ES-150D that came out in 1969 was not so ornate and not offered in sunburst. So this is a custombuilt?

The guitar is a Rickenbacker(post-war) JB Series-7 String short-scale console manufactured by Rickenbacker around 1971. The guitar is hollow body and maple on outside.

@035jdj That is of course correct, BUT I think the other comments were made regarding Billy Byrd's guitar, NOT the Jerry Byrd model that Jerry Byrd is playing..
