This is a compilation of audio clips recorded off-air from Boston television stations during the summer and fall of 1978. The audio was recorded from a Sony model TV-720U, a seven-inch black and white television set, on an open-reel tape running at 3.75 inches-per-second and using the quarter-track format.

  • These sound great! What tape deck was used to record the audio originally?

  • @MisterMcStrat

Thanks ... The original off-air recordings were made on a Sony TC-353 quarter-track deck at a tape speed of 3-3/4 inches per second.

  • Nice audio rarities!

  • I am writing a paper on early sports radio, does anyone remember Calling All Sports when it was co-hosted by Bob Lobel and Upton Bell? Do you remember if they did a debate format or a call in chat format or an essay format or news format??? Please respond ASAP my paper is due tomorrow!

  • Both of the baseball games are from Saturday, October 7.
