  • PJ I have heared so many different versions of this song...Nothing can beat this beauty!!!

    Mere(scottish for more)////..lol

  • I've listened to a few others too since so many kind Youtubers have educated me on this song. This is the best I've heard so far as well (in my opinion anyway)

  • stop agreeing with youself!...Let thee tooon's dictate that!!!

  • Lol.. I attempt to reply to each comment, even the one worded ones. As this channel gains popularity it's becoming hard to keep up with

  • The Grasshoppers weren't an actual "Christian" band, they were just doing a pretty straightforward cover of a1965 Hollies LP track, right down to the guitar solo. The other side was a cover of The Searchers Suger & Spice. I recall a pic of them dressed in some goofy outfits.

Lead Singer Jiggs Lee went on to form Cain, whose '75 LP "A Pound Of Flesh" was noted for its gross-out cover & is quite collectable. Jiggs was very outrageous on stage from what I'm told! So much for the Xian angle.....

  • Lol... I guess that angle is definitely out. Thanks for the information

  • Wow, cool to know there wa s arecord label called Fox right here in Minneapolis, hehheh..

hadn't even been born yet tho when this was released :P

  • @jeffre451 66

  • Is this the band Benjamin Orr was in?

  • @mndandy It was first performed by Peter, Paul and Mary, as the opening track of their album "In the Wind". Two members of the band have songwriting credits.

  • @anonUK Probably just a folk song. Peter, Paul and Mary did a cover of it on their album "In the Wind", if that's any indication.

  • I really like this version. I think I like the version by The Skeletons the best.

  • Was this rock version of a Gospel song or something? Does anyone know what genre the original was?

  • This version of "The Very Last Day" is so infectious! So cool! Many thanks for uploading this version!! :D

  • @WHIZTV I thought that was Rik Ocasik
