@tonieprawda We listen to her because she is so bad it's funny, but also because of her delusions. As to nowadays, in her time she sold out Carnegie Hall and counted many famous people among her "admirers" including Caruso, Cole Porter and Gian Carlo Menotti. People loved to laugh at her then, and people love doing it now. In terms of harm to music I'd consider mediocrity of popera and tv talent shows far more harmful than this obviously bad singing.

That's just it. Critics assailed her from all sides, and yet she persevered with a bullet-proof sense of her own talent. You could have sliced up her denial into enough planks to re-roof a barn.
