@nikkichat257 people act like there is no middle age white people in Kalamazoo, for Christ sake they are drinking Bells Beer in the trailer. It doesn't remind me of my Kalamazoo (stockbridge baby!) but it reminds me of some white chicks that could be from Kalamazoo. Cut it some slack man.

LOL, this is wierd, I live in Kalamazoo ... and there is a motion picture named after it???
I'm actually from Kalamazoo and nothing in this clip reminds me of home at all. Seems like somebody from Jersey thought their movie would get more "buzz" if they said it was Kalamazoo. It also really looks like they go the ethnic mix in Kalamazoo wrong. Where are the WASPs.

You are way off base. The movie was shot entirely in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The writer and producers are natives of Kalamazoo. It features dozens of prominent landmarks of Kalamazoo. The story is based on actual events that occurred in Kalamazoo. Maybe you are from Jersey yourself and just have a serious case of Kalamazoo envy.

Sounds like you saw the movie. I was basing it on the preview. I, of course, recognize the landmarks. Just seems like a generic romandic comedy/family drama. No blacks except the Angel character. What about Upjohn or the KKK rally or anything that is based on Kalamazoo. Would have liked to see a John Sayles thye treatment. Probably the story of her family but could have been set in any town. Hopefully I will get a chance to see this movie somehow b/c it doesn't seem to be out on DVD.

It will be out on DVD soon. Kalamazoo (the city) was supposed to represent "any town USA"... that was the whole idea. There is more racial diversity in the movie than is evident in the trailer, although it could have had even more. It is a character drama/comedy about a class reunion. We didn't set out to make a John Sayles type film (although that would be very interesting, too). How do I know all this? I'm the director and producer of the film. Thanks for your comments.
