http://www.ted.com We think of space as a silent place. But physicist Janna Levin says the universe has a soundtrack -- a sonic composition that records some of the most dramatic events in outer space. (Black holes, for instance, bang on spacetime like a drum.) An accessible and mind-expanding soundwalk through the universe.

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate.

wiki hawking radiation, mass and energy can escape such that the hole will lower in mass and eventually vanish, but visible sprectrum light stil cant escape, so i think its still fair to call it a black hole, singularity is just a fancy pants name, its still black

um actually "black" holes is a misnomer this is bullshit. some of the singularities as they are better called emit more energy than they consume.. in the form of the full spectrum of light all the way into xrays and gamms.. so black holes are all neccesarily dark spots

Very interesting- although at some points it reminded me of watching a sermon in church. Just for a technological religion
