Bayern Munich scraped past Rangers into the second group stage of the Champions League with an unconvincing 1-0 win. Rangers dominated the match and hit the post three times but lost out during a five minute spell in the first half where they lost Michael Mols to a season-ending injury and conceded a penalty to Thomas Strunz.

  • I'm a Celtic fan but even i felt a touch of sympathy for Rangers that night. They deserved to win, probably by at least 2 goals.

  • remember as if it was yesterday, heartbreaking, and your rite, was the last time we aw the real mols play :(

  • Can't believe we lost this match. That Rangers team were probably guilty at times of not being direct enough. Best Rangers team I ever saw though.

  • @ronyeats Rangers are british... theres a big difference compared to when celtic go abroad, they fly irish tricolours... thats the only real confusion... idiot

  • @416e6f6e796d6f7573 -or was he just aalright for 1 season in a shite league? i would go for the latter. whu no dutch heroics for his national side. he wouldnt be taken with them as the waterboy! gers fans really do live in a world of theiorown. all these dafties wavinbg union jacks. the krauts must have been confused as the wee playing a scotting side

  • @416e6f6e796d6f7573 Yeah true.If he had not got that injury he wuda broke all goalscoring records

  • I wonder what would have happened to Mols if he never got that injury. He wuda been one of the greatest Rangers players in history

  • I was 5 when this was on, and can still vividly remember it. Genuinely the first time i felt disappointed. Kinda get used to it nowadays, but that Rangers side was without doubt the best in decades.

  • brilliant. was looking for this for a while. this was the first game i was ever at. i was only 10 years old at the time. my passion for fc bayern only growing stronger every year since. respect to rangers too i can still remember the rangers fans being great. no trouble, just good fun!

  • Rangers should have taken 6 points against Bayern abseloutely dominated both matches, a last minute free kick ended the match at Ibrox in a draw too :(

  • such a bad luck for michael mols. He will always be magic mikey for fc utrecht!

  • @faddy24 Bayern scored, Rangers didn't. It doesn't matter who deserves it really.
