  • My uncle is from Oregon and I'm from Texas... I went fishing with him on the deschutes(check spelling) and brought a spinning rod, corkys, surgical tube, bar weight and some 20 lb spider wire. He thought I was insane, until I bagged 5 hatcherys and 2 natives all in one day.. I was told that it takes about a day of fishing per steelhead... I always found fast and deep waters, about 2 yards in front and 2 yards out of a good swirl and pull slowly into the swirl, was the magical touch..
