Mira is a male. Why do you give some of your male pigeons female names and say things like "such a good girl?"

First of all, I know Mira is a male. However, the man who sent him to me and I both thought he was a she at the time. Mira came to me at under 8 weeks of age- much too young to sex a pigeon based on behavior. Also, I have TWO pigeons. Both I got and named at too young of an age to properly sex based on behavior. By the time I discovered they were males, they both knew their names. I guess I just don't think it's a big deal. Is this an acceptable explanation for you?

Love it! I knew a pigeon (named Pauli), he comes with me when I go shopping or waited for me when I go to lunch in a cafe! He comes sometimes with his mate!
