@fullclip16117 that really depends on how you drive it. My car today does close to 40 MPG in strictly short city driving during winter (ie worst imaginable conditions). Does about 50 on open road. I can imagine a less efficient car could improve its MPG significantly if driven gently in good conditions but i wouldnt know. It's an interesting point that they would intentionally make cars less efficient, i'll think about that

@VladBlok28 People claim that its because of efficiency, but thats bullshit. My old neighbor, waaaayyyyy back when, had a prototype 65 Chevy that ran close to 40MPH. Only a few of them were ever manufactured, and none were supposed to be sold, how he got his I'll never know, but we laugh about it when I was a kid.(early 90s) He used to laugh at the fact his car got such good MPG, I hope he still has that car....
