  • Edit:

*at very least lets look at the effect that stressing a biological component of depression while remaining silent about the psychosocial causes, has on the outcome of the patient and views of the family and how those two things are interelated.

  • @Wuety06 These psychosocial causes can definitely have a role in depression, whether that role is predisposing, principal, precipitating or perpetuating is where different schools disagree.

  • how about breaking the corprate message and teaching causeality as trist and emery understood it? at very least lets look at the effect that stressing a biological component of depression while remaining silent about the psychosocial causes. lets see if there is any motivation from the group that created the previous to promote the later. at very least go elemerntry and apply it to Bernays work

  • @Wuety06 Trist and Emery give a useful sociological perspective. I agree that organizational culture is a factor determining diagnositic and treatment decisions.
