In Carbon Nation, we don't call CO2 a pollutant, we call it a green house gas, like water vapor and methane. We show that lowering the carbon in our economy, 1st with energy efficiency, then with cleaner forms of energy, triggers many positive events: our nation is more secure, our energy needs are more secure thus strengthening our economy, businesses save money on energy, millions of jobs can be created retrofitting buildings. We hope you take time to watch our movie starting Aug 1.

Haha. You mean the IPCC report?? You're kidding, right? Every bit of scientific data on EARTH was collected to produce that consensus report by thousands of scientists. The effort is estimated to involve more concentrated science than the Apollo Program!! You need to read a LOT more on this whole subject and stop believing liar-denier sites that only tell you what to think, instead of why they think. You're jabbering stuff from right-wing denier sites like crazy. You won't get truth that way.

what data was used to write this report.

was it the discredited temperature sites, was it based on computer modelling?

    the discredited mann hockey stick?

or al gore's doco... that in England has to have a warning before it, that it is a film of fiction, not fact

    (A) The estimates are that the grid can easily manage with little alteration since most vehicle charging would be at night during off-peak periods, and grid is only needed for non-local power delivery, so more rooftop and local solar and wind power generation makes changes to the grid even less needed. Rooftop solar sounds unaffordable, but with government loan guarantees it becomes more affordable when stretched over many years. Landlords and power companies can be incentivized to provide it.

    (E) A bare-bones three wheeled (two forward-one behind) bicycle with passenger behind driver and electric motor with a 45 mph top speed and range of 150 miles has been achieved by dozens of amateurs. The charging time for most is under two hours, but you can add battery banks relatively inexpensively and extend it. Many velomobiles (enclosed trikes of this type) used now in Europe have electric motors and are completely enclosed against weather. This is NOT technology that doesn't exist yet.

    (D) We can make a two person three-wheeled vehicle right now that gets the equivalent of 500 mpg and has a top speed of 60mph that runs on 80 pounds of lithium batteries, and newer lighter lithium-polymer batteries are now being manufactured. This kind of vehicle has been constructed by several innovators for a cost of less than $15,000. Under mass manufacture this price might be half that.

    (C) A feed-in tariff requiring power companies to buy back unused power would convince those with the space to install more generation at a profit. Cities could increase their income using the roof area of their buildings and public venues. And above all, we need to reduce the size of vehicles and their weight, rolling resistance and wind resistance by composite materials, aerodynamics, and axial flux electric motors that are 98% efficient right now.

    (B) This relies, of course on roof and local power being subsidized on people's roofs by some service scheme that would replace paying power companies for power shipped in at a distance. Unless you could afford to own it, which is not as unaffordable as you imagine, given loan guarantees by government, the power companies could invest in roof power systems on a rent to own basis, rather than their next 50 coal or gas-fired plants.

    (5) Did you really think no one in the scientific community had thought the same thing as you, and they didn't have good reasons why that's not the key issue here??? Hardly. You need to read more, a LOT more. Start with the most in depth treatise ever written on ANY subject in Science, the report of the IPCC. You'll be shocked and awed by the depth of its detail regarding every single thinkable contributing factor to climate and the degree of consensus they had to laboriously obtain to write it.
