2011 State of the Mobile Net: Keynote Speech: Hon Anna G. Eshoo

America is the leader in innovation and technology and the Hon. Representative Anna Eshoo discussed how Internet startups such as Apple, Google, and HP are empowering new startups and creating jobs and technology for our nation. Touching on a widely debated topic, Eshoo talked about the need for freeing up additional spectrum and what applications will use this spectrum and the policies associated with it. Highlighting the rise of 3rd Party smartphone applications, Representative Eshoo then underscored the Apps' economic and social implications including the importance of transparency and protecting consumer privacy from misuse and abuse going forward.
