    Sometimes I would pass by the bathroom and see my mom on the toilet fiddling around with pads (she didn't close the door when she was the on the toilet). I asked her what she was doing and she told she had her period and one day, I would get mine, too. I got mine at ten and my mom knelt by me when I was one the toilet and showed me how to use a pad.

    She never really explained any of this stuff, though... with her it was just "Put pads on your panties to avoid ruining your clothes and sheets."
