'Estate' was written in 1960 by the Italian singer and composer Bruno Martino, together with Bruno Brighetti. The song is about a love fading under the beautiful Summer sunsets, and it has been one of the fewest Italian songs to become a jazz standard worldwide, after João Gilberto played and released it in Brazil. Its original title was 'Odio l'estate' (I hate Summer).
