Marty recorded many Fred Rose songs and it's kind of surprising to me that while so many artists from the 50's onwards did complete Hank Williams' albums not one ever did a Fred Rose album that I'm aware of. He wrote or co-wrote many great songs during his career such as 'Deed I Do', 'Be Honest With Me', 'No One Will Ever Know', 'Settin' The Woods On Fire','Take These Chains From My Heart', 'Roly Poly', 'Foggy River', 'Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain', 'Walz Of The Wind', 'It's A Sin','Kaw-Liga', 'I Guess I've Been Asleep For All These Years' and 'Texarcana Baby' He also helped develope the careers of two immortals such as Hank Williams and Marty Robbins.
The Sons of the pioneers did a Fred Rose album on RCA CAMDEN, entitled "Good old country music" It does not include this song.

That does it; I'm going to the attic and breaking out my old 33's and will fire up the record player. I am sure I have this particular song on one of my (treasures) Marty Robbins' records. Beautiful.

Beautiful song done only the way Marty Robbins can do it. In close order(just my opinion) the Top 5 of all time singers: Hank Williams,George Jones,Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins,Jim reeves, then there's dozens that can fill the next slots. I forgot Patsy Cline fits in there somewhere.
