Marty recorded many Fred Rose songs and it's kind of surprising to me that while so many artists from the 50's onwards did complete Hank Williams' albums not one ever did a Fred Rose album that I'm aware of. He wrote or co-wrote many great songs during his career such as 'Deed I Do', 'Be Honest With Me', 'No One Will Ever Know', 'Settin' The Woods On Fire','Take These Chains From My Heart', 'Roly Poly', 'Foggy River', 'Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain', 'Walz Of The Wind', 'It's A Sin','Kaw-Liga', 'I Guess I've Been Asleep For All These Years' and 'Texarcana Baby' He also helped develope the careers of two immortals such as Hank Williams and Marty Robbins.

  • The Sons of the pioneers did a Fred Rose album on RCA CAMDEN, entitled "Good old country music" It does not include this song.

  • That does it; I'm going to the attic and breaking out my old 33's and will fire up the record player. I am sure I have this particular song on one of my (treasures) Marty Robbins' records. Beautiful.

  • Great song by the great Mary Robbins the greatest singer of all time what a great singer the best there will never be another that can even come close.every time I find and play one of his song I Think this the best but then every song he sing is great, I love every song Wow what a great singer

  • Marty was and still is the greatest of altime's.For me he never died and that is thanks to Tarquin and so many more who are keeping the memory of Marty alive by posting all his great wonderful songs on you tube.I hope that Marty, his wonderful wife Marizona and his two compadres Don and Bill may rest in peace in the arms of our God.Thank you for your comment and may God bless you.

  • marty is the greatest

  • yes jayjemkay, its on the essential marty robbins two disc cd, it is a studio version on the album though, a great cowboy song, rose of ol pawnee

  • is this song on any album /cd

  • Beautiful song done only the way Marty Robbins can do it. In close order(just my opinion) the Top 5 of all time singers: Hank Williams,George Jones,Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins,Jim reeves, then there's dozens that can fill the next slots. I forgot Patsy Cline fits in there somewhere.

  • Great song of Marty, thanks for posting Tarquin.
