  • THIS IS NOT JIVE!!! what is this???

  • It's called VLV (Viva Las Vegas) Jive, or Rockabilly Jive. It's just as much -jive- as the one you probably know - Modern Jive or Ballroom Jive. (Sorry for the confusion, but I didn't make up the names.)

  • @kategreen15 It's Rockabilly Jiving...not to be confused with Ballroom International Standard Jive. Rockabilly Jiving was done by "Teddy Boys", teens in England who were rock n' roll fans in the 1950's. The International Standard Jive is a ballroom dance that's done (ironically enough) to re-recordings of '50's rock n' roll songs that have been timed (hence the re-recordings) for ballroom dance competitions. Both styles are English takes on American swing dancing.

  • @obed1g "Knock Me A Kiss" by Louis Jordan and The Tympany Five.

  • Hah! Did a search on jive videos and I see Rockin' Raul, who's not only great guy and a fun dancer and instructor, but also a good dee-jay and a singer/bandleader. Keep it up Raul and we'll see you Fridays at Rockabilly Fridays.

  • Well this is obviously Rockabilly Jive, father of Rock N Roll and ballroom Jive and that's obviously different, Rockabilly Jive was born in UK in the 40s, soldiers brought it back to US after the second world war. So please, stop using "statue of liberty" (by the way i'm not from UK) This video is from 2008, so I guess it was when you began dancing ... I'm sure things got better since then, because there is alot of technical sutff missing in this. You should post a new video !! Keep it up !!

  • whats the name of those songs in the background? any good recomendations?

  • By the look of her shoes, this is Orthopedic Jive. LOL...that's mean - sorry.

I will say, it looks like fun.

  • theres no footwork in jive

  • yep it is, rockabilly jive. much more fun than ballroom, goes great with buddy holly and music from the 50's.
