At this point in his career Daniel Johns should have split from the other two guys, as it seems to me that he was the only one that had a clue or gave a damn.

@yellingelk You think so? Ben and Chris are excellent musicians, and I've always felt that Daniel was a better songwriter when he collaborated with Ben. If anything, I think the band's post-Neon Ballroom direction would be much better if Ben and Chris were *more* involved in the music (and it wasn't their choice to be shut out of the writing process).

@meldasue You're obviously more of a fan of the band and more knowledgeable of their material etc. I was really commenting more about their rock sensibilities. Yeah I agree with you on Daniel John's song writing, it was much better (more focused) when he collaborated as part of the band... he got carried away later with all that arty pill popper stuff... lost his foundation completely.

@yellingelk No, it's a legitimate viewpoint. But I think it's the other way around - Ben and Chris are more grounded - they don't take themselves as seriously.
