  • @georgesmokie That chorus singer should have played the Diva card and told them if they wanted her to sing the Fs she would sing take over the whole role. As longs as you don't play it too often, the Diva card can be very helpful to one's career. In my case it just made me feel better......

  • @baritonebynight

    You are right

A lot of sopranos in 20th had that timber, This rendition isnt bad,

  • I'm very surpsrised when I see the negative comments here. I've grown up with Bergman's version of this opera so I guess I'm biased. I agree that there are better performances of this aria (well, obviously, since Nordin couldn't take the highest notes and the voice was replaced with someone's who could) but I still think that the dramatic tension and emotions are perfect here. Like in this scene, look at Pamina's horror when she hears those high notes, the whole aria becomes much more sinister.

  • I love it, but I prefer Diana Damrau!, great work!, thank you uploader!

  • She sound good to me and at the end that's what counts.

  • @starrbaby74 It is exactly as you say.

  • @tcradical wtf is wrong with you? This is one of the best sung versions of this very difficult aria I have ever come across. Where is your culture?

  • She sounds and looks like the witch she portrays. Recall that it was Ingmar Bergman who madethe cast and I do not think it was so that the best operavoyce casted in this lauded film version of The Magic Flute... He searched for the character

  • has anyone mentioned the nazis yet on this comments stream? - it seems about time doesn't it?

  • The timbre is similar to Florence Foster Jenkins.
