although, i have heard of a pair of homosexual penguins that reared an abandoned baby penguin. That was totally for affection- not to show who is superior.
humans and wild animals have similarities and differences. sometimes, humans rape other humans to show dominance. animals have other methods for dominance.
but both can show affection. affection is not a particular human trait. it's shown in animals, as well.
