  • Unfortunately, there is a mistake at 2:05-2:08. This is NOT the Allegretto scherzando of the 8th Symphony (2nd mvmt), but Tempo di menuetto (3rd mvmt).

Besides, I think the Allegretto scherzando would be better here, because of the metronome-like, regular staccato string ticking during almost all movement. Look also for the "Ta-ta-ta lieber Maelzel" canon WoO 162.

Greetings from Poland - great idea to put in these videos!

  • You are a most observant viewer/listener my friend in Poland !

Unfortunately I'm not able to make changes in the video. Let's see if there are other as observant out there.

Happy new year to you !

  • "written by Israela Margalit, the eminent pianistin and author," really eminent?

  • Wow I'm really surprised they didn't play the 5th symphony really at all, except for those couple seconds. That's good, I think everybody knows that piece, and it's better that we become more familiar with some of Beethoven's other symphonies, like the one they played after, his 8th, which I seem to be the only one that knows it, anytime I tell them and let them listen to it, it's always their first time hearing it!

  • It isn't your fault that you uploaded a video from an original broadcast that unfortunately made an elementary error. The great Peter Ustinov would have been aghast at such an oversight in an otherwise excellent and informative programme.

  • That's the 5th symphony, I believe it's the first movement.

  • Hey whats the first song 00:57 ?????!
