@LaMilby given jung's studies in the philosophies and truly grapsing Kant, does explain his comment about "knowing". gnosticism is different. Kant's critique of pure reason was very important in his work. See Steven Palmquist's essay, " THE ARCHITECTONIC LOGIC OF JUNG'S PHILOPSYCHICAL TYPES".

@LaMilby - That's called being a "Gnostic", in the old days- one who "Knows"..

@tarmbruster1 It's unusual to hear "intellectual" people admit this. At least in my experience, intellectuals shy away from the idea that they would follow gut feelings to any conclusion.

@LaMilby I don;t think this can be said as unique to Jung. I didn't need to here him say this ti know either.

@exenrontexas Religion is to help man to recolect, A recolection of something that is has been already been given, is apart of. At penticost the Spirit was give to us all. Religion in this sense, to help us to reconnect is good.

@ggnub100 ah but within the microcosm exists the macrocosm, no?
I love his answer to the God question- "I know. I don't need to believe, i KNOW." (smile)

I occasionally say to myself 'we need wise old men, this is what the world lacks'. Then, with a jolt, I realise that I am now 53 Years Old. The terrible Truth Dawns... It is about time that I started working on Being a 'Wise Old Man'. When am I going to start becoming Wise ? I still feel more or less the same as I did when I was an adolescent, still looking for reassurance, recognition, attention. Not very Wise ! I must make a Start, before it is too late !
