Tampa Fire and Krewe of Charlotte deBerry visit Mendenhall Elementary

On Thursday December 11, 2008 Tampa Firefighters and Paramedics from Station 12, the Hilldale/Wellswood area of Tampa, and ladies from the Krewe of Charlotte de Berry delivered over 100 books and a check for $500 to Mendenhall Elementary School in Tampa.

When the Tampa Firefighters Krewe of Saint Florian and the Krewe of Charlotte de Berry heard there had been a roof leak at the school and that many of the grade school books were destroyed they decided to take action. They rallied the other firefighters along with friends and teachers at Mendenhall for a book drive and social event at The Ritz Theater on November 13, 2008. Over 200 people showed up to support the cause by donating books and money.
