Woman admits killing husband, burying his body in backyard

an albuquerque woman admits to killing her husband .... more than a year after his body was found buried at their former home. we were in the courtroom today as ellen snyder talked about what happened nine years ago that made her pull the trigger. sharon erickson has the story. less than a week before ellen snyder was set to stand trial for the murder of her husband michael.... she changed her plea.. she was emotional as she stood before the judge and accepted guilt. "guilty, your honor." "after waiving her right to a jury trial that could have kept her behind bars for more than 20 years on first-degree murder charges, snyder confessed to the murder in her own words." ""i confronted my husband at the time with information that i had found out that he was gay. he became enraged. after an altercation, i had been given a gun by a friend who was concerned for my welfare. and during our argument, i shot mr. snyder." prosecutors say back in 2002.... snyder shot and killed michael...then buried his body at their northeast albuquerque home. for years his disappearance was a mystery...until her son tipped police off about the murder... and told where he helped his mom bury michael's body. when snyder was arrest last february ...she claimed her husband abused her... and she acted in self defense. "the night that it happened she was in a situation where she was afraid for her life. so, she used a gun that had been loaned to her by a friend." today the judge granted snyder contact visits with her daughter and mother. "she hasn't gotten to hug her daughter in a year and a half. I saw this episode on Dateline .... this chick is lying. Nobody corroborated her story of her husband being gay. She killed that man and hopefully she never gets out of prison
