Obama is a Socialist: In His Words

He's not really a socialist. The United States has always (yes, ALWAYS) been a mixture of capitalism and socialism. We have never (yes, NEVER) really been capitalist. Just because Obama wants a bit more government control doesn't make him a socialist. I would say he's a social democrat. The simplest way to sum up social democracy is basically what they have in France and Sweden and Finland.

Lmao. These quotes are so stupid. They prove nothing. They had one quote from some random lady who is not Obama. -.-. Please. Get a life. Most of those quotes I agree with. Obama 2012. Bitches.

"What is more important..." etc. was spoken by the senior Obama, not our president
-
As a socialist I can assure you Obama is definitely not one of us. He's a corporatist shill.

1) settled
2) let me know if your country has something comparable
3) how do the business owners not create? They formulated the idea, they saved the money, they bought the commodities and property to make it, they hired the employees, and they compete in the marketplace. Why should someone who doesn't work 'deserve' anything?
And as for surpluses...how's that working out for us? Greece, UK, USA, Itally, Portugal, Spain...the list goes on. They had to borrow, no surplus. Read!!!

All things originate from the workers. They grow your food. They build your houses. They put the clothes on your back. They are the foundation upon which wonders are built. But you see only the great spires, and assume that the foundation does not matter...
But the workers deserve their fair share, or they will one day get tired of holding your fat asses up.
A foundation with no castle is still a building.
A castle without a foundation is a ruin.
Do not steal from the workers, for they are many.

@ratter88 No one said anything about workers not being important. That's just dumb.

@shaunconnell
Then why are you against socialism? Why do you think that it is a bad thing that the worker gets his due? Why are you against the worker getting security for himself and his family?

@ratter88 Socialism destroys the middle and poor classes. The free market is the only system through which they can systematically find a more comfortable life.
That said, "your dues" are only what you agree to. And I run a financial advice network for poor and middle class people, so I kind of sort of care about their financial security. Google "stand strong research", click first result, that's me.

That all sounds like a great way to survive in a hostile society. But it is like wrapping yourself in a blanket instead of fixing your roof.
The free market has a backside. To get rich, someone else has to pay. If you hire people to work for you, you have to make sure that they earn less than the value of their work to profit. Then you have to make people buy your product for more than it's value. It is unsustainable. Socialism is equal distrubution of wealth. Why is this bad?

@ratter88 No, one person getting rich doesn't make another person poorer -- especially not when wealth is often created through the creation of new technologies. Warren Buffett didn't make money by making other people poor -- if anything, more people are wealthier because of him.
The first principle of economics is that trade -- or commerce, business -- is not zero sum. In other words, two people can benefit from the same trade and transaction.
Once you understand this, the rest will follow.
