Superlative photography by Vilimos Zsigismond highlights the family-oriented outdoor drama Journey to Spirit Island.
Set in the Pacific Northwest, the films stars Bettina Bush as Maria, a teenaged Native American girl iving on a reservation, has been brought up in two worlds.
Nurtured in the old ways by her grandmother, a tribal elder and shaman, her other world is the modern one of school, television and friends who have little interest in the old Indian ways.
During a summer kayaking trip Maria, her brother and two young friends from Chicago become caught up in a strange adventure involving the tribe's sacred burial island, an ancient curse and a magic canoe.
Their survival depends on Maria's ability to meet the challenge of bringing the gap between the old Indian ways and the contemporary world.
@TheCharacterActor That's what I would like to know. I have the VHS tape of it but I don't have any way of recording it so I can upload it on youtube.
