We were incredibly lucky though. A clay roof tile came through the window about five feet from me, but that was the only damage. Incredibly blessed that it was so minimal. So many people did not fare so well.

HAHAHAHA! I was in Winter Park when Charley hit! I kept thinking it hit at 9:02 but I was five minutes off. I remember watching this! It was my first hurricane and I was SO drunk by that time. Scary, but strangely good times. LOL.

how was your power still on, we were in kissimmee and ours went out before the worst part hit us

i was in disney world when this happened i was 7 god it was so scay his GIANT tree snapped and landed over the entrance so we couldnt get out :( we had to go all the way around the back

I lived in seminole county during this hurricane... snapped alot of our trees and we lost our house... Sucks.

Man, I remember this one. I live in Ocala, about an hour northwest of Orlando, and it was supposed to go directly over us and do damage like it did in Orlando, then it changed course and because it was so small, Ocala was sunny and a bit breezy, thats it. Although I was out of school for 2 days because of this storm. In total, that year I was out of school for 3 weeks thanks to Ivan, Frances, Charley, and Jeanne. Nice post thoguh.
