@nonodaenie Also, not many sedatives will be instant, they could be damn near close, but if you miss the blood vessel it could take hours. I read somewhere that there was one that was instant and it's used on people in hospitals, but it's only instant if you inject it directly into the carotid artery. The M99 Dexter uses is probably heavily diluted, he probably does check their weight, although there are times (Lila and the babysitter, Dexter using it on Lumen at first) that were a stretch.

@nonodaenie The thing about sedatives is that they are dose dependent, especially when it comes to the person. Larger people will take more, but the dose used on a larger person used on a smaller person will more than likely kill them. That's why anesthesiologists get paid so much money, they go to school for years to learn how to manage sedated people in surgery.

@Nemesis921 Thanks... M99 is real.
Do you know another type of drug that could have an immediate sedative effect but non-fatal?
-
@nonodaenie Etorphine, Immobilon, or M99. It's use is fictional as a small undiluted amount would more than likely kill someone, it's used to tranquilize rhinos.

@serenityzr19 Yes I remeber. It was M-99 its name i think, but i was looking for this drug and i found nothing...
I think is a fictional name...

@nonodaenie if you go back to season 1 it says that he uses a very strong tranquilizer that you need to have a special licence to get it paralizes the whole body i dont remember the name of it though its in the episode where he kills the husband and wife at the junk car yard
love the elevator music there :)
