  • Nice to hear this. Would be much better sans WOBBLY sopranos...music like this needs the notes to be relatively straight. Save the wobbles for Mendelssohn snorefests...;-)

  • My favorite Magnificat and Nunc. Many thanks to the Sowerby Foundation for making this beautiful and nearly forgotten work again available to choirs and churches everywhere.

  • @bubba68086 One of my favourite Sowerby pieces, a pity he is not so well known (altough Gerre Hancock has performed his music regularly on CD's with the St. Thomas choir of New York and Catherine Croziers org.records). There's sooooo much of Sowerby that isn't recorded yet. I have an anthology of a of his works for organ wich contains about 17 pieces, some really mindboggling. Sowerby's music's really difficult to perform and you need a lot of interpretive power, otherwise it doesnt work.

  • I'm shocked to note so few "views" (77) of this video. This is music-making of the highest order. Excellent!
