Prime Minister Freundel Stuart's intervention has been cited as one of the reasons that brought about a settlement, which eventually paved the way for REDJet to fly into Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica.

REDJet's CEO, Ian Burns, told this to a news conference yesterday at the Grantley Adams International Airport.

The airline's desire to operate the service had been held up on safety grounds, charges of predatory pricing, and the fact that it would be offering competition to Caribbean Airlines.
However, a tough-talking Stuart highlighted a number of the issues preventing REDJet from operating the service between Trinidad and Tobago, suggesting among other things that while Barbados is not into second guessing aviation authorities in other countries, no one should attempt to do it to Barbados.
