Brett Frederickson is a drum teacher based in Phoenix, AZ who teaches for a living. He has a degree in Music Performance from the Musicians Institute of California, taught drumline for 15 years, has opened up several drum clinics for musicians like David Garbaldi, Ken Mary, and Ray Riendeau, plus doing many clinics himself.

Brett Frederickson playing an improvised solo on his Yamaha Set with Vic Firth 505 rutes. (Part 2 of 2)

It was filmed with two cameras, one moving and another stationary, and the Audio is combined from both cameras. An edit was made to the audio of the moving camera at 1:16 to reduce overpowering noise from the high hats, and it is played at normal speed.

  • I love it lol

  • @Fearthe9staysic I think it's a zil-bell by zildjan

  • Brett,

    How are things these days?

    Showing off, are we?

Quite a show, but it is even more impressive to see it in person.

Drummers rule number 1: Find Thy Pocket and Keep Thy Pocket.

Wait a minute, that is the songwriter's rule for drummers.

Anyway, many drummers would love to be in the Brett Frederickson agglomeration. :-)

    Wishing you the very best,

    DJC

P.S. How did those specs keep from falling off your face? How does Andrea tolerate all that noise?

  • That's what happen when you have enough cowbell

    That was awesome!

  • This is Jordan2213, but anyway no.

    I'm his student.

And those doubles that keep going is him using the slide technique.

It's not a double bass unless it's constant.

He can do doubles no problem with one foot.

  • what is that red cymbal called

  • triplets and consistency.... what showmanship? you're not making any sense.

  • Once again, one detects a commitment to speed and...umm...showmanship.

Just saying so much. He has so much to say...

Is he saying a little with a lot? I don't know, could be.

Sure, there's some taste. Too much rolls and not enough butter?

I'm sure the kids love this sort of banging.

Sure, it lacks maturity but it's fun stuff.

Chicks are impressed by this overindulgence.

    Cha, cha, clack, double-click-clack, clop.

Wow! There you go, that's some triplets.

  • Eventually there will be a video where he uses the double bass pedals, and it's awesome :) ... he does use them a couple times in the rute videos though.
