Long-standing activist, Marilyn Wann, takes to the streets with her handmade YAY SCALES that beg the question, arent we all a little bit fabulous? Sondra Solovay takes a more scholarly approach as a lawyer/teacher/writer behind the forthcoming FAT STUDIES READER. The Reader promises to bring the world of fat activism and fat academia together through a varied collection of writings. The assumption is that fat is a civil rights issue and an area of study no different from race, gender and queer studies.

@catbearlol Every fat person has tried to lose it, and 90% have failed. That is because they are fighting their own biology. Doctors have not come with any safe, permanent way to lose weight. Being fat is just being an outlier, like being tall or short or having a high IQ or bad eyesight. If you can read, check out The Obesity Myth by Paul Campos.

if beeing fat was healthy, they would be considered beautiful. 99% of physical atraction is based on health. like a young person wouldnt find an old fat whore atractive, beacse she would probably die soon and wouldnt be able to get out of bed and take care of the kids she would never be able to have.

@samslick90 ? are u a doctor or something? last time i checked, beeing fat was unhealthy as fuck. the only reason for some1 to have , lets say maybe 5-10 extra kilos of fat would be to survive a life threatening disease. or in extreme cases where you only get food once ever second week or something.
