  • good invention, but bad form.

  • @cbwillpower When doing squats with weight on the shoulders form is of critical importance due to strain on the spine and back muscles. With my invention, there is NO pressure on the spine, neck, shoulders or back muscles. This is exactly why I created it. Keeping strict form of the upper body is not as imperative. There is a form or "groove" in the up-and-down motion that is basically dictated by the way the belt attaches to the lever arm. Believe me, it works well.

  • lol...i lv ur business mind man, but lets face it , you are simulating the deadlift as mentioned above

  • I may be "simulating" another exercise but that's not the point. The purpose of the belt is to take downward pressure off my spine. In that regard, it works exactly as designed.

  • Very clever. I have a Power Tec gym with a squat rack. I too have had lower back problems. The system is so smooth and controlled, I have never had problems. In fact, the squats have eliminated my back problems. I agree, there is no better equip. on the market than Powertec.

  • Ed, great piece of innovation!

I'm just awaiting delivery of my LS - primarily so I can better train "Matrix Style"

Your vid got me thinking; with the squat bar attached is it possible to use the arm as a leg press? (Guess I'll have to wait until mine arrives! Might need to fashion up a footplate of sorts...)

    best wishes

  • Ive seen this already..plus they have a bar that actually surrounds you as you just grab the bar around you and do your squat. ill send a vid if you want

  • Ed, have you tried an inversion table for back pain? Decompression after squats feels great.

  • I just ordered this bench for Christmas I cant wait until it arrives.. Thats a pretty cool belt!

  • Not bad Ed, but Powertec already has a cool machine that duplicates some of your home brew creativity plus includes other popular exercises.

It's called the Power Level. Check out this YouTube vid for a demo:

  • actually its probably closer to a partial which is still effective in building muscle, not as much as a full squat..but the partial has its place...kudos to you for finding a safe way to work the legs...not like some of these morons that max out and blow the knees.......good job pal
