Eddie McCain on ETV Debates

On October 24th SCETV will be hosting a debate between candidates for the 2nd congressional district. Candidates in this debate are Joe Wilson and Rob Miller. However the debate is not that. There are a total of 4 candidates running for this office. The 2 candidates that have been denied the chance to debate are Eddie McCain & Marc Beaman. Just what is a debate, and what does the "E" in SCETV stand for. I always understood that it was for Education. I also understood that a debate between the cadidates allowed the public to see for themselves where the candidates stood on issues so they could be further EDUCATED and make a well informed decision at the polls. However by not including all of the candidates this does not inform the people nor does it give the candidates a chance to make a worthy challenge on the issues. When asked about the denial of Eddie McCain and Marc Beaman to participate, SCETV replied that it was their decision and it would "SIMPLIFY" things during the debate process. Well I am inclined to agree there. It does simplify things and sends the statement that ONLY 2 parties matter in this election. The same 2 parties that have gone back & forth blaming each other for the state of our Union today. This is an injustice. SCETV does not do a selection process on candidates who can run for office. There is a process already in place and all candidates worked hard to get there. If you deny one then you should deny all, just as if you open the door for debate, ALL CANDIDATES should participate. This is how we select who we want to vote for and our right to chose should not be censored to tip the scales in favor of other party favorites. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and the Republican and Democratic candidates were denied. I encourage everyone despite whom you are voting for to voice your opinion to SCETV and tell them how wrong this action is. Urge them to reconsider their unjust act. I will and I will protest this action as long as it stands.
