@occams99 Considering it's Brazil in 1985, I doubt his playing a strat had much to do with choice. It was probably the only guitar he could get that wasn't a complet piece of crap.

Guedes choice of a Strat for the high end is perfect. You don't see that too often. The Strat is a female guitar, out of place in this corner and must be handled accordingly. Treat her right, treat her aggressively but soft, whipping the high frequencies and she'll scream for you. Great post.
