I am a conservative, but this demonstration is protected under the first amendment. Hate Crime legislation is completely un-American and violates first amendment rights. To other conservatives out there, think about this before you try to get the government involved. It is counter-productive to the conservative movement. Democrats are the ones that want things they disagree with to be silenced by government force, not liberty respecting Americans.

Just the site of a noose in the year 2008 should be a crime. It is a reminder of dark times in our country's history. The black community should be outraged as well. If I were in the Obama camp I would issue a statement saying that they don't support this and urge these two " whatevers " to take it down. If the Obama camp turns a blind eye to this then they are just as bad as these two " whatevers . " The Obama camp could gain some votes and respect by doing the correct thing.

This fact that you cannot even admit this was an act of hate and not just 'all in good fun' is an example of why people are fighting on two different side of Prop 8. We come from two different worlds. You don't see the hatred that was the motivation for this stunt, and also people who vote Yes on Prop8 as gay haters, and I think think the exact opposite.

I'm saying that the only people who can possibly 'get a kick' out of this image of Palin being strung-up by her neck are the extremist gays who have a hate-on for anyone who cannot sanction their practices because of religious beliefs. btw, an Obama effigy already happened...Sept 23rd... in Oregon on George Fox University. gasp. It was removed because it was on public property. YESTERDAY one was found at U of K. It was removed as well for the same reason. It did not get national attention. why? turns out effigies are nothing new. why would anyone get bent out of shape for exercising free speech? come on think people!
