Sword Familiar money glitch

First of all to do this you must have the following spells and items.
-Sword Familiar (obviously)
-Gems (preferrably diamonds)
-At least 50 Mana
-and the Sword Brothers spell (Down, Down/Forward, Forward, Up/Forward, Up (hold for at least two seconds), then down + square/attack buttton)

Go to the Librarian, before you go to talk to him do the have your Sword Familiar out and do the Sword Brothers spell. While the sword is spinning in the center of the screen, go talk to the Librarian. If this worked you should be able to access your menu by pressing start while in the Librarian's menu. If you can, congradulations you have successfully glitched the game. Now go to Sell Gems, choose whatever gem you like (Diamonds will easily get you more money than any of the others), and sell all of them but one. AFter this, enter your menu and equip the gem you didn't sell. When you go back into the Librarian's menu you will see that you still have the option of selling the last gem, even though you eqiupped. Sell it, this will cause the computer to count backwards and when you look at the gem you chose in the menu you will have 255 of them (why such a random number I have no clue). Good Luck. Didn't even know it existed. But I finally got the game back, tried it out and got it! Picked up the duplicator after selling a bunch of aquamarines. Just lovely!

The reason for 255 is pretty simple. its the highest number you can make with the binary alloted to item numbers, much like the highest IP address is 255.255.255.255.

My guess as to what the pokemon number happened was that 99 was the highest and there was no graphic for 255 so it glitched up the graphic, if you used up the items they probably might be 255.

this also works on the psp, ps1, and even xbox version.

for those who have trouble woring the command for the sword broes spell. you buffer the directional, thats the trick XD its like shooting a hodoken in street fighter/... i know this sounds crazy but it works if you buffer

this glitch only works on the old game, if you try it on the unlocked version from dracula x chronicles it doesn't work

I do need to add I use jewel sword as a secondary weapon.And you need to use the jewel sword. It maybe not that helpful but still creating money out of nothing is pretty amazing.

Since I am playing the psx version on the psp. I have some trouble doing some spells and special uses. I assigned the analog stick which does seem to make it easier to use spells except for the sword brothers one. GRRR! But while doing this I discovered something funny. Maybe people know already although I did not find it in the guides. While doing the hadouken streetfighter move with the jewel sword equipped you create gold coins. Not much,but you create it out of nothing. How cool is that!
