Watch as a warming fire is lit in steam locomotive C17 934.
After BB18 ¼ 1072 was withdrawn from operating the regular steam services due to a fault between the locomotive and tender, C17 934 was then called upon to takeover the regular steam service on the railway for the next few days afterwards.
It was Friday night piss up out the back of the Shed at Zig Zag and some guys can be heard hanging off the whistle of 1072 while I was filming the lightup.
reminds me of Western Coal and Coke # 1

for a second I thought the whistle was a dog barking because if you listen it sounds like a huge dog bark

Great video. This is a part of the operations of a steam locomotive that is not seen to often. For me it brings back so many memories of working with steam at museums here in the US. Keep the fires of history burning my friend and share them with our children as hopefully they will keep up the tradition for generations to come.

@0812201 Well its not BB181/4 1072's original whiste which was a QR Chime Mk2, and when I think but I am not quite sure; its came to the Zig Zag. The members removed the original whistle & replaced it with a SAR Rx 4-6-0 Whistle.
My general consensus; and some people would agree; that 1072 should be restored back to original QR condition (with QR standard chime and green liverly. Black was only given to a select few after 1967; the rest were still green). Its should return home to Queensland!

I thought that the C17 is not being used due to engine problems.
